Confused Youth?

Bismillaahi was-salaatu was-salaamu 'alaa Rasoolillaah. Wa ba'd

Assalaamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullaah.

Reader: So, Umm Junayd, how was the event?
Umm J: Don't ask!

OK, so it wasn't that bad (as I've been told), however, the talk shed some light on something that I've been thinking about for a while.

Sister G. gave a rather long talk (note to self: never give a group of young sisters a talk for longer than 25 mins!) and she touched upon the different types of youth:

1. The Upright Youth - few and far between
2. The Corrupted Youth - widespread and mostly non-Muslim
3. The Confused Youth.

Sadly, most of the Muslim youth of today fall under category 3. Their confused; they don't know why they pray, the girls don't know why they cover... sadly, most of them are taught one thing (mainly in madrasah's I must note) and see another thing at home.

Who do we put it down to? The parents? The teachers? Or, the youth themselves?

The harder question is: what's the solution?

This is by no means a piece of my writing ('cos I'm not a writer?), rather, it's just a piece of the pie of scrambled thoughts going on in my head at the moment.

I may write more clearly soon inshaa`Allaah. Until then, please send in your thoughts.

Was-salaamu 'alaikum

~ Umm Junayd.
