Cupping Information

Bismillaah.
Since this post, I have received several emails and comments about where one can learn to cup. I got my first taste of cupping when I attended a very basic cupping course. Although it was a little vague in some areas, it gave me knowledge that I didn't previously possess.
I then attended a workshop taught by Ilkay Zihni Chirali which was much more thorough and in-depth mashaa`Allaah - and the major benefit of it was the receipt of a Cupping Therapy certificate, which was only issued to students who actually participated in the various types of cupping, all using the fire method only.
You can find out the latest information about Ilkay's workshops at: www.cuppingtherapy.co.uk - he also has a fantastic book which should be purchased by anyone who wishes to revive the sunnah. The book can be found here.

Your Thoughts
Wa 'alaikumus-salaam wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh.
Alhamdulillaah, I'm happy you found it beneficial. Regarding hearing loss, I'm not sure if cupping can solve the problem, as it usually has something to do with the inner ear, and there are just some things that cupping will not help, but having said that, I really do no know.
I would suggest emailing Ilkay and asking him, he is really helpful mashaa`Allaah, and he would be able to shed some light on this. Whatever the outcome, please do let us know.
Just for extra info, here's the common problems that cupping is used for:
Abdominal pain, Anaemia, Asthma, Atrophy syndrome, Back Pain and Sexual complaints, Bed-wetting, Boil-carbuncle, Cellulite, Chest pain, Common cold and influenza, Constipation, Cough, Dysmenorrhoea, Fevers, Hypertension, Infertility, Musculoskeletral pains (Bi syndrome), Skin complaints, Stroke, Stress related conditions, Depression, Tiredness, Broken veins and Sports injuries.

asalaam alaikum warahmat Allah wabarakatu:
this comes at a perfect time when i'm trying to educate myself on it. having been here in madinah for a year i've met a few people who've had it done and who do it. so now i should just go ahead and take the plunge.
jazakAllah kheir for this post and on the other one you linked too. i thought there was a lesser need for women than men because of the menstrual cycle, nice to know thats just a stereotype..what about kids though i wonder? can cupping do anything for hearing loss, do u have any info on this?
