Healing with the Medicine of the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam)

Author: Imam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jauziyah

Description from Publisher:

(excerpt)
Healing with the Medicine of the Prophet is the panacea for those in search of good health. It is a magnificent work that is a treasure every Muslim household. Although it was written by the author, Ibn Al-Qayyim, over six hundred and fifty years ago, it is extremely timely work for our generation in which health and natural health care products have become an important aspect of the lives of so many. As the Qur'an and Sunnah are the main sources of Islamic lifestyle, it only stands to reason that they should likewise be referred to in the matters of health and fitness. This is the approach taken by Ibn Al-Qayyim as he presents Verses of the Qur'an and statements of the Prophet as his main reference in these issues of health and medicines. The final chapters the this work include an extremely beneficial glossary of remedies, herbs, foods and other natural substances that aid in the journey towards better health.

Umm Junayd's Comment:

This book is another one of those priceless reference books that one uses over and over again, each time finding something which 'didn't seem to be there before'. It's truly a valuable resource for all those who wish to not only keep themselves healthy, but go for the natural alternative of all the synthetic 'medicine' available and the added bonus being the reward one can reap if one has the intention to truly follow in the path of the Prophet (sallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam).

as salaamu `alaykum...

Lovely! Jazakillah khayran for this. I would love a book on black seed. A friend of mine is getting one published in shaa Allah, but do you know of any in the market?

Wa 'alaikumus-salaam.

Well, I'm not sure about a whole book dedicated to black seed, but this book has nearly three pages dedicated to it.

This book is really comprehensive mashaa`Allaah, it's got everything from cupping and ruqya (for 'ayn and otherwise), down to the properties of common foods we eat. It's definitely a keeper!
