Last Ten Days
Archived under Tazkiyyah .
Assalaamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh.
I pray that you're all well during this blessed month and that you are taking full benefit of it, inshaa`Allaah.
As surprising as it may seem, the last ten days of Ramadhaan are fast approaching (starting from tomorrow night inshaa`Allaah), which means we only have 9 or 10 more days and nights of Ramadhaan. In light of my previous entry, I'd like to urge you all to excel more in acts of 'eebaadah during this time and become more aware of your actions. Let's remember that 'eebaadah does not necessarily mean praying all the time or reciting the Qur`aan all the time, but simple things like giving charity, visiting the sick and helping the elderly may be acts of 'eebaadah because they are pleasing to Allaah, subhaanahu wa ta'aala.
Also, during these last ten nights is when Laylatul-Qadr occurs. This night is better than a thousand months and:
"Whoever stands (in prayer) during the Night of Al-Qadr with faith and expecting reward (from Allaah), he will be forgiven for his previous sins." [Narrated by Abu Hurairah - recorded in saheehayn]
We have also been told that we should:
"Seek it in Ramadan in the last ten nights. For verily, it is during the odd nights, the twenty-first, or the twenty-third, or the twenty-fifth, or the twenty-seventh, or the twenty-ninth, or during the last night."
It is recommended to say this supplication, amongst other supplications, during the last ten nights of Ramadhaan:

May Allaah allow us to see the end of this blessed month, allow us to utilise the time wisely and increase in good deeds, seeking His Pleasure alone, aameen.
Was-salaamu 'alaikum

Wa 'alaikumus-salaam wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh.
BaarakAllaahu feekumaa for your comments... and Muslimah, the additional ahaadeeth were beneficial mashaa`Allaah.
Us-Salaamu'alaikum.
Was just wondering...shouldn't that be "Allaahumma innaka..." instead of "Allaahumma inaka..."? Forgive me if I'm wrong though.
Wa 'alaikumus-salaam.
Na'am akh, you are right. JazaakAllaahu khairan for pointing that out!
Wa iyyaki, wass-Salaamu'alaikum.
Please forgive me, but "Allaahumma" has also been misspelled, unless my eyes are playing tricks on me.
Salamualaikum,
RAMADAN KAREEM!! (even though we're almost through. Sorry it couldn't come sooner)
WOW! Its really been long. Hope you're well. Haven't had time to catch up on the readables, but I'll try to do so one of these days.
Take care, :)
Assalaamu 'alaikum.
Hassan, baarakAllaahu feeka for your attentiveness, mashaa`Allaah.
DT, it has been long indeed! I hope that you're still strong mentally and spiritually, inshaa`Allaah.

Aameen to the du`aas.
Other related ahaadeeth:
In al-Saheehayn it is reported from the hadeeth of eAafishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) that when the last ten days of Ramadaan came, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) would stay up at night, wake his family and gird his loins. (al-Bukhaari, 1920; Muslim, 1174). Muslim added: he strove hard and girded his loins.
Keep me in your du`aas too ya ukhtee.
Was-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaah
