Life Springs forth

February 24, 2007 : 6 Safar 1428 H

Archived under My Poetry , Tazkiyyah .

A few weeks ago, during a spot of low eemaan, I asked a sister for some advise and here's what she said (via SMS):

Even after a forest fire, from the depths of [the] ashes springs life. Truly Allaah is Inspirer of hearts! Don't worry, whatever the problem is, turn to Allaah and remember you'll find the cure. Remember when Nabi [sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam] and Abu Bakr were in Ghaare Thawr, with a heart full of conviction he [the Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam] said: "Laa tahsan, innallaaha ma'ana" [Don't worry, indeed Allaah is with us].

So with this advice comes this poem:

Life Springs Forth

Give me naseeha*,

I'm feeling lost
I know what it is
But then I'm not sure.

After a forest fire,
From the depth of ashes,
Life springs forth.

In the driest of lands,
From dew drops of rain,
Life springs forth.

From the hardest of hearts,
More solid than rock,
Life springs forth.

For every disease
There is surely a cure:
Life springs forth.

We're not in control,
He owns our hearts,
Life can spring forth.

Unbreakable hearts
Are easy to unlock

From the Inspirer of hearts
Is surely a cure

Life springs forth.

* naseeha means advise

May Allaah grant us all a cure, especially the diseas of the heart. Indeed, once the heart is full of disease the rest of the body becomes corrupt. May Allaah protect us from this, aameen.

"The tears that fall from the eyes of a truthful believer, out of the fear of The Lord, and then roll down his face, however little they are, even (though they be) of the size of the head of a fly, shall prevent the Fire of Hell from touching his face." [Ibn Majah]
