Painting Galoure!

Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaah.
As mentioned previously, I will be homeschooling two childen for a sister I know and as I know that they can be a handful, so we decided to have a 'trial-run' yesterday. Actually, it wasn't really a trial-run 'cos all of the sister's children came over and another sister and her son came over too.
So... in total, I had 6 children over at my home and all of them were under 6 years old!
To try to keep things simple, we decided on doing some crafts. I had gotten some ideas from Enchanted Learning and away we went!
We did two paint related activities - making a crown and bubble painting.
To make the crown we used:
- paper plates
- thick liquid paints
- sponge shapes
- pencil and ruler
- scissors
First, I drew 6 segments on each plate using a pencil and a ruler, then I cut the segments. Each child was then allowed to decorate his/ her crown. When they were done [after much mess-making] we left them to dry on the radiator... and voila! Paper crowns!
For the bubble painting we used:
- washing-up detergent
- straws
- water
- a shallow plastic container
- lots of paper
I filled the container just below half way and put a generous amount of detergent into it. We then added loads of paint into the container... each child was given a straw and they were left to blow! When the bubbles were nearly over-spilling the container, I grabbed a piece of paper and placed it over the container.. and what-do-you-know.. It was a bubble painting picture!
I think I had more fun that the children did and their pictures and crowns came out so well mashaa`Allaah.
Why not give it a try...
