I believe it was Muhammad Ibn Sireen who said that 2/3 of knowledge is akhlaaq. SubhaanAllah, such a potent statement, but how true it is.
Naseeha, I believe, has a couple of prerequisites, that is, knowledge, akhlaaq & hikmah. For it is amazing how much knowledge one can retain, but their da'wah can be severely damaged by way of having bad akhlaaq. Perhaps people know what you're saying is true, perhaps they even recognize that you have the best intentions at heart - but the way in which you convey this is key. If they feel you are demeaning them by blatantly pointing out their faults - then this alone can cause them to reject your naseeha (even though you may have had benign intentions).
May Allah ta'ala bestow upon us the 'ilm, hikmah and akhlaaq to give our naseeha in the best of manners, so that the receivor of the naseeha does not feel as if he/she is being attacked, rather that their heart is opened by the gesture, they realize the benign intentions, are reminded of Allah ta'ala and act upon the sound advice. Ameen.
BarakAllahu feeki ukhtee.
