Sister Amatullah

April 30, 2005 : 21 Rabi al-Awwal 1426 H

Archived under Heart-Melters .

"Inna lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji'oon" - "Indeed, to Allaah we belong and, indeed, to Him we shall return."

These were the very words I uttered while tears poured forth from my eyes when I read that sister Amatullah had passed away.

Who was sister Amatullah?

Amatullah Al-Marwani embraced Islam in 1996. A California resident, she was a wife, mother, public speaker, teacher, author, web-developer and President of ISLAM in Action. She was the wife of Mohamad, mother of Amirah & Zaahir age 3 years.

Amatullah wrote and published 4 early learner picture books, mashaa`Allaah!

Zaahir & Jamel the Camel – At the Mosque: A young Muslim boy, Zaahir, and his furry friend, Jamel the Camel, visit and pray in the Mosque.

Zaahir & Jamel the Camel – Hajj: A young Muslim boy, Zaahir, and his furry friend, Jamel the Camel, learn about and perform the pilgrimage.

Allah Made Them All – Birds & Allah Made Them All – Flowers: Vibrant illustrations and richly crafted du'aa (supplication) bring each page to life for the delight of your little Muslims as they learn to call on our Creator Who blessed us with graceful birds and blooming flowers!

She was also the author of the monthly column for children: Mazzin the Moose - Islamic Advice for Muslim Kids. Author's website at: We Love Islam

Sister Amatullah was employed as a part time school librarian but had to terminate the position due to the critical turn of her health.

Sister Amatullah Al-Marwani had been living with the cancer leukaemia for a number of years, until her medications ceased to be effective. She was then treated for a life threatening blood clot in her lungs. She also had a bone marrow treatment. Details of her treatment can be found here.

***

Death is a hard event for all of us to deal with, especially for those who are left to 'pick up the pieces'. However, it is a reality that will most definitely occur.

In the case of our beloved sister Amatullah, it's been a battle and she remained steadfast through the fight, but the decree of our Lord has come to pass and indeed He is the Most Just and Most Kind. Her suffering has ended and inshaa`Allaah Firdaus will be her eternal abode.

May Allaah accept her as His faithful servant, purify her, expand her grave and make her response to the angels a firm one, aameen.

"To Him you shall all return. Allaah's promise is true. He is the One Who originates the process of Creation and repeats it (will bring it back to life) so that He may justly reward those who believed in Him and did righteous deeds." - Soorah Yunus (10): 4

... and we pray that sister Amatullah will be justly rewards as Allaah is the Most Just.

Ninuk, I think you may have already copy and pasted it, but yes... it is okay to do so. The more people who make du'aa for sister Amatullah, the better it is for her in her grave.
