Eye for an Eye
** I wrote this this morning so it's probably still very shaky. These are my musings about Lubnaan [Lebanon]. **
Salty tears dry
Blood still spills
Vultures are launched
Their intent to kill.
Breast milk ceases
Due to fear and shock
Hearts have hardened
Sealed with a lock.
Limbs dismembered
Strewn and thrown
Children are orphaned
Nowhere to call home.
"We'll not stop fighting
'Til they leave us alone."
Who'll be the first to hear
Their crying and moans?
The quake is terrifying
Literally shaking hearts
Some are still asking
"How did it all start?"
Mountains of rubble replace
Years of sweaty construction
Will dust ever settle
In place of this destruction?
"Whose side are you on?"
Look around and see
Where's the peace in all this?
That's what matter to me.
An eye for an eye,
An ear for an ear.
This isn't what's happening
But there's noone to hear.

Pain, agony, sufferings when heard jolts our inward chambers (hearts),
and eyes go wet, with tears!
May Allah (SWT) have Mercy on Muslimeen & Muslimaat in each corner of the world. Aa'meen!
